SUMMARY:  
-2nd Shift-
Perform various manual duties in the assembly of finished goods, components and equipment to be shipped; as to assembly hardware; ground sleeves; paint base welds; doors on bases, etc. Check shipments against shipping documents and instructions to ensure all components are included in the hardware kits as specified.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in taking inventory periodically.
  • Prepare finished goods for shipment to accompany items for shipments.  
  • Keep supervision informed of any discrepancies on incoming hardware kits and make corrections as instructed.  Answer inquiries regarding receipt of materials, shipments made or pending, and check various details for Material Control and others.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Must have the ability to operate in a safe manner the material handling equipment such as a forklift, etc.
  • Preforms various bundling and manual assembling of brackets 
  • Preform any duties as required by supervision
  • Observes or monitors process to determine compliance with prescribed safety standards
  • Adheres to and audits 1st and 5th piece quality inspection procedures
  • Ability to multi-task and continually prioritize tasks to be completed throughout the shift

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or recognized equivalent.  Excellent driving record.

Ability to communicate with peers, vendors, customers, purchasing and production control. Proficient with and have a good understanding of data entry and inventory control systems and procedures with the ability to interpret bill of materials, part numbers and part descriptions to aid problem solving and inventory control. Must have the ability to operate in a safe manner the material handling equipment such as a forklift, crane, yard tractor, etc. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Basic mathematic skills.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.  Must be able to work in a team environment and participate, contribute and support all team activities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand for the entire shift.  The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Lifting which exceeds 50 pounds may be with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Proper lifting techniques required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving machining equipment, moving mechanical parts, dirt, oil, grease, metal shavings, and fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat.  The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud with potential exposures ranging from 80db to more than 100 db at certain times.  Required personal protective equipment (PPE) will be worn as mandated in the mfg. environment. Specific safety equipment will always be used while operating equipment or performing tasks as outlined, if mandatory for this position.

SUMMARY:  
-2nd Shift
Setup and operate multiple pieces of mechanical equipment including: reamers, saws, milling machines, lathes, brake press, forming press, flattening press, drill press, punch press and other machines and equipment utilized in machining of various product components. Perform ordinary setups and adjustments as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to use multiple measuring devices such as tape measures, pie tapes, calipers, micrometers, and levels to produce a quality product within the tolerance of the manufacturing drawing and quality specifications.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints of required parts to be fabricated.
  • Proficient in machine setups and change overs including adjustments, die selection, and tool use.
  • Knowledge of mechanical machining and forming processes such as presses, benders, mills, lathes, saws, drill presses and hand tools.
  • Efficient in problem solving; ability to overcome obstacles and adapt accordingly.
  • Basic mathematic and geometry skills:  interpret radii, rise, circumference, pie (3.14), bend lines, angles, and degrees.
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Adhere to 1st and 5th piece quality inspections.
  • Follow directives of supervision and group leaders to assure on time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Comply with all safety and housekeeping rules.
