ORGANIZATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT
I am pleased to announce that Dennis Stout has been promoted to Vice President, Finance. Dennis will continue to report to me and will be responsible for leadership of all accounting and financial reporting functions for Abingdon and Gastonia.
Additionally, Dennis will assume responsibility for the Industrial Engineering department, led by Megan Dale; and the Purchasing department, led by Rob Ackerman. These departments will become part of the Finance department effective immediately. Dennis will make appropriate announcements as to structure for the new Finance department in the coming weeks.
Dennis joined Hapco in 2008 with over 20 years of knowledge and experience in project cost accounting, financial reporting, budgets, and forecasting, with an expertise in operational planning.
He came to Hapco from Denso Manufacturing Tennessee, Inc., after 18 years of service. He was responsible for the overall development and reporting of monthly financial statements, development of sales strategies, cost planning, and inventory. Dennis began his career with Denso as a Purchasing Specialist for 3 years, a Purchasing Supervisor for 5 years, and a Purchasing Manager for 3 yrs, then as a Business Planning Manager for 7 years.
Dennis is a native of Wise County and graduated from Coeburn High School, Coeburn, VA. His hobbies are hiking, biking, walking, and farming. He is a graduate of Emory and Henry College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Economics, with a major in Accounting and Management.
Since joining Hapco, Dennis has played an integral role in establishing controls and reconciling three different systems for reporting purposes. He has been a stabilizing force in a difficult business climate.
I am very excited to merge the cost, purchasing, accounting, and financial reporting disciplines under the guidance of such an experienced and proven leader. Please join me in congratulating Dennis on his new assignment.
