Wright Promoted to Director Operations
Tracy Wright has been promoted to Director Operations. He will be responsible for leadership of all manufacturing and shipping operations in Abingdon, Va. and Gastonia, N.C. He will also assume the responsibility for the material control function for both facilities. This organizational change will provide the means for process and strategic consistency across each production facility.He joined Hapco in 1991 as Quality Control Technician, after working in temporary summer positions throughout 1989-1991. His most recent assignment was Director Manufacturing Operations, with responsibility for production operations in the Abingdon facility. Prior to that appointment, he held the position of Director Manufacturing Engineering, where he was responsible for managing the manufacturing engineering and industrial engineering departments.
Wright has played a key role in Hapco's manufacturing and engineering functions. During his time, he has been involved in the design and implementation of Hapco's major capital projects, including the aluminum plant expansion and equipment upgrade in Abingdon, and the steel pole production facility and equipment upgrade in Gastonia.
Furthering his education, Wright holds an Associate's Degree in General Engineering Technology from Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon, and a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering Technology from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn.
